Qianwen Luo (M2 student) won the best student presenter award in 2023 1st Annual Congress of SCCJ.

Our 2nd year master student, Ms. Qianwen Luo won the the best presenter award in poster presentation category for students in the 2023 First Annual Congress of The Society of Cosmetic Chemists of Japan (SCCJ). This event was held on December 5th to 7th in Saitama, Japan. Her research topic is about analysis of TRP channel expression and function in the eccrine sweat glands.

Ms. Ayane Nakaoku, a graduate of our laboratory, and Ms. Qianwen Luo, a second-year PhD student, presented their research at the 3rd SCCJ (Society of Cosmetic Chemists of Japan) Annual Congress held in Yokohama from December 8th to 10th, 2025. They were honored with the Best Poster Presentation Award and the Student Presentation Award, respectively.

Dr Toriyama won Cosmetic Victories 2026 academic prize!!

Dr Toriyama won Cosmetic Victories 2026 academic prize, which was sponsored by the Cosmetic Valley in French. Theme is "From Biology to Beauty: Primary ciliary controlled cosmetics for immune memory regulation and sustainable innovation". She and her team have been found the novel function of primary cilia, a tiny organelle of the cell, in immune memory. In addition, effective ingredients on primary cilia were also found by them.
